In this number of 1987 appears the principal, in that time, Eng. Victor Manuel Murillo Gálvez and the first computers for students in that school.
G. Laguna had his first computer curse in that time, and was with the IPN-16 computer, designed and produced in México by the IPN, at the CINTEC research center.
Additionally, G. Laguna used to participate in some institutional activities, for example as a member of the IPN "Consejo general Consultivo",
Finally, G. Laguna got a diploma, in 1988, as an electronic technician.
and the majority of their classmates were graduated too.
As an electronic technician, G. Laguna worked at the CINTEC research center, from 1988 to 1989. Basically, he was working in the process line of the Mexican personal computer called as IPN e16, designed by Dr. Miguel Lindig.
At CINTEC G. Laguna learned a lot, and knew some interesting people and researchers.
In this picture appears the CINTEC production team in 1989. Again, you can recognize some prominent Mexicans. At the right side, Eng. Ignacio Minjares T., Eng. Melendes and G. Laguna. At CINTEC, G. Laguna met to Dr. Ricardo Barrón Fernández, and since that time they have collaborated in many researching and professional activities.
After been working at CINTEC, and been studying as an undergraduated engineer at IPN-ESIME Zacatenco by one semester, G. Laguna decided to apply to the UAM Iztapalapa, in México City, where was accepted in 1989. In the following picture appear some of the G. Laguna class mates at the UAM-Iztapalapa.

In this picture you can see Ernesto Patraca Maldonado. It is very hard to recognize that he is not more with us. He was a smart and honest man. He was university classmate, college and good friend of G. Laguna and his recent die (2009 winter) was a hard shock for his friends. This picture is to memorialize him as the good man that he was.
G. Laguna was under graduated as a Electronic Engineer in 1993 and began to work in a young Mexican Designing and developing Company: sedpc. He was hired by the sedpc manager: Eng. Enrique Cisneros S.
In that company, G. Laguna started a very productive and successfully age, designing and developing electronics devices for the control and automation of electrical utilities. In fact, he received a unfinished prototype of a device that later became the well known "Event Register REDSAD".At sedpc, G. Laguna invited two smart boys (he met them at the university) to work with him: Carlos Badillo and Andrés Ortiz, and together became a reality the REDSAD commercial version. Thus, the "dream team" began their professional age whit a very interesting challenge that they faced and solved successfully.
and that allowed to the company to be more and more recognized.
The business vision of the sedpc manager, Enrique Cisneros, and the technical competence of the designing team leathered by G. Laguna, allowed to the company to sell the products (hardware and software) in all México and some other countries.
Thus, the company grew and was necessary to find new business premises and human resources. Again, in that process, G. Laguna met too much worthy people.
It is impossible to mention all the people that supported to the company with some work or ideas, but G. Laguna believes that many of their colleagues were very claver and very important to support the company growth. Specially, he remember to José Merino, Alejandro Barrios, Carlos Badillo, Andrés Ortiz, Eduardo Tapia, Alejandro Perales, Mauricio Olguín, Manuel Román, Antonio León and Israel Olguín.By the way, G. Laguna was supported by the company to study a master grade at the UNAM-DEPFI. It was from 1996 to 1998 at C.U. in México City.
For G. Laguna, working at sedpc was a big opportunity to learn and grow as a professional. In fact this labor experience allow him to know a lot of countries in both America and oversea, since some business trips.
Finally, in 2010, G. Laguna received his Ph D. degree. In the following picture you can see the patient supervisors and Thesis jury after the dissertation: Dr. Alfonso Prieto (Thesis co-advisor) , Dr. Sergio Suárez (Reviewer and President), Dr. Ricardo Barrón (Thesis advisor), G. Laguna, Dr. José L. Oropeza (Reviewer), and Dr. Luis A. Villa (Reviewer). In this picture Dr. Oleksiy Progrebinyak (Reviewer) does not appear, but all they have been highly involved in the work leading to G. Laguna's thesis.
In the following picture you can see some prominent professors that were determinant, as teachers and colleges, in the G. Laguna career. From left to right: Dr. Ricardo Barrón F, Dr. Marco A. Ramírez S, Dr. Edgardo M. Felipe R, Dr. José L. Oropeza R, Dr. Sergio Suárez G, Dr. Jesús G. Figueroa N, Gerardo A. Laguna S, Dr. Abel Laguna T, Dr. Ricardo Marcelín, Dr. Victor Ramos R, and Dr. Alfonso Prieto G.
Today, after fifteen years working in the private sector and three years pursuing his Ph. Doctoral degree, at the Center for Computer Research, IPN-CIC, in Zacatenco, México, G. Laguna returns to the academy life, and now he is with Department of Information Systems and Communications at Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Unidad Lerma (UAM-Lerma), Lerma de Villada, Edo. Mex.
